Monday Night's Class

I personally want to say that I needed tonight's classroom talk. I have been extremely discouraged with how my semester has been going. Usually at this point in the term, I have a great standing in all my courses - however it has been a different story this semester. I definitely needed the pep talk we had. I'm doing well in this class, but in my others I have let myself think that average is okay. With all the demands and things due, I have hardly any time to breathe. And just getting things done is my main goal. But you have given me the kick I needed Mrs. White to get back to the level I was at last semester. My expectations have went from the highest to about mid-level. And that is not me. It never has been.

Thanks for caring Mrs. White.

The pep talk also helped me! Although Mrs White thought she may have been being harsh, I think it's exactly what some of us needed to hear!!

You all have SO MUCH potential. I see it in you. I KNOW you can be phenomenal educators.

We all get overwhelmed with life's responsibilities. It is so easy to do. This is when we simply need to pull together, find "from whence our help comes" and let each other help us.

I look forward to working WITH you all in schools in 3, 4 or 5 years.

Until then...let me know how I can help!

I agree tonight's class was very encouraging. I just wish all professors were as understanding as Mrs. White. I really like the feedback on tests and assignments because I know for sure what I did wrong and it's still at the same time encouraging. I think the positive feedback is just as important as the criticism. Personally, I was very discouraged the other day when I got an assignment back in another class and I got an awful grade and can't really explain why. It just kind of makes me think that I can't do better because I tried so hard and just got negative feedback.

I agree that the discussion in class was amazing for me. I have always been a slacker and not wanted to put forth all my potential and I know if I did that I would be succeeding in every class. The pep talk not only helped me in this class but it also made me realize other things about my other classes. Thank you Mrs. White! :)

I agree with what Renee said about feedback. I really appreciate the feedback Mrs. White gives, because I feel it helps me learn. If I never know what I am doing wrong, then I cannot fix it and learn from my mistakes! I also like the way that she provides positive reinforcement!
