So excited!

I did some of my observation hours today in a first grade classroom where the special education students were in the regular ed classes with what they call their "special helper." I got to jump in today and help some of those students read books and take AR tests and I found myself using words like "phoneme." :-) What we have learned in this class really helped me in helping them!! Also, I was so amazed at how kids at that age LOVE adult approval! One little girl, everytime she sounded a word out on her own, and I smiled at her, she just gave me this look like it made her day!! It seriously melted my heart, and I'm so ready to graduate and start teaching! Just figured I'd share some of those thoughts!

I remember doing AR test...but I hated them. But other than that I totally enjoyed my observation as well!! It was one of the view that I've gone to and actually enjoyed. Unfortunately there are so many teachers who have lost their enthusiasm-maybe they never had it.

Which is why I am so excited about the students who will come out of our class and be PHENOMENAL educators. They'll realize BEFORE they get to the classroom that if they don't have the passion to teach, it doesn't make them a bad person, it makes them simply cut out to be wonderful at another profession.

I also have enjoyed my observations. I love how excited the children are when they learn something new.

I've observed some not so "up-to-par" teachers, and those are good too observe too, because it shows you what you DON'T want to do!! I enjoy seeing the good and the bad. hmmm is that bad?

That's not a bad thing... I have learned just as much from a good teacher as a bad teacher. You just apply what you learn in different ways. It all helps you become a better teacher.
