I am doing Pragmatics for my project. When it says section off all TURNS, does that mean clauses?
Thanks.

Language and communication is at the heart of society. Learning how to use language to communicate wants and have needs met can be a complex task for many children. Our course will explore how language develops and the intricate challenges many children face who experience a variety of physical, emotional and cognitive difficulties.

No, ma'am. Sectioning off turns is when the child stops talking and lets the next person "take a turn" talking. The sample transcriptions we have gone over in class shows each person talking - those are TURNS. You might have several UTTERANCES however in one turn. You must have 100 utterances in your sample.
i was confused about that too, but mrs. white definitely explained it well. i hope you get it now!
:]
I was also a little unsure about that. I thought that was how but I second guess myself. Thanks.
I was confused on this as well...
Thanks Mrs. White!
