Hi Mrs. White! I am so interested in this class already! I was very excited about this class because Special Education is my minor and I really have a desire to help special needs children. I'm an Occupational Therapy major and I strongly believe that taking this course is going to give me so much insight to better myself and my chosen career!

Wow! Occupational therapy is a great field. You will have lots of ways to incorporate the language goals of children into the therapy that you will be doing with children. You will have the natural setting where children will be DOING so many things where they can use language NATURALLY. I do believe this class will be of benefit to you. I'm excited you are in this class.
Mrs. White
Hi Mrs. White, I really enjoyed the first class and look forward to the rest of them. My name is Bridget Jordan. I live in Gray, KY and I am a communication disorder major. I have always had a passion for special needs children and wanted a career where I would be able to help them. Ironically I ended up being a mother of a very special needs child that has taught me more than any class ever could. My daughter has Tay-Sach's Disease and I have had to watch my talking, smiling, baby turn into a toddler who could not move a muscle in her body. She can no longer use any kind of speach, not even a cry but still communicates with me in many ways. I always know when she is uncomfortable or in pain she lets me know with facial movements. Even after she lost her speach I had to learn ways to enhance her oral skills for her to be able to use her oral muscles longer to swallow etc. So she has been a true inspiration for me to finish my degree and made me realize for sure that I had chose the right career path. If anyone would like to meet my little angel and learn more about her and Tay-Sachs Disease go to www.caringbridge.org/visit/mollygrace
