I'm pretty sure the other night was it...I've never really had my phone go off anywhere else...I usually remember to put it on silent.
Most embarrassing cell phone ring...I was actually at a band concert one time and left my cell phone in my purse not on silent (which I thought was on vibrate). My purse was sitting behind the curtains. Well, the band was playing a song and there was silence for about 30 to 50 seconds. MY CELL PHONE RINGS!!! All the band members were looking around and did not know where it was coming from. After the concert I hid my purse so no one would see it cause that was totally not cool, my cheeks were so red. From that day, I never use that purse anymore (I think I gave it to my sister.)
My cell phone was one of them that rang last night! However, that was not the most embarrassing moment it has rang. The Most Embarrassing would have to be when I was in my government class at Morehead. The classroom was literally silent and of course my cell phone rings. My face turns red and it feels like it's a 100 degrees in the classroom as I am quickly trying to put my phone on silent (Knowing the whole time that all eyes are on me!). But when I look up my professor says "let me talk to your boyfriend" and now it feels like the room even hotter than before. So I say "It was his mother" and kind of hand the cell phone in his direction. Seeing that I have been embarresed enough he laughs at me and continues teaching! Ironically, my boyfriends mother was the same person that called me in your class! I'll try and remember to put it on silent from now on!
I had my cell phone go off during church service one morning during prayer. When I am at home I go to this little country church way back in a holler and I had never gotten service there before so I never bothered to turn it on silent because I couldn't recieve calls. But while I was away at school they put in a new tower close to the church and no one bothered to tell me about it. So it scared me and the rest of the church half to death when it went off and I had actually gone up for prayer so I had to run back to my pew to shut it off. Especially since my ringtone at the time was friends in low places by garth. I will never forget it and the church won't let me either. It was horrible!!
Megan,
That is better than my phone in church story that I shared in a comment to another post!
I LOVE small country churches!!! I grew up in one and miss them TERRIBLY. It has now grown from 100 people to over 1000 - the town has really grown.
I now attend a contemporary church in Lexington, Crossroads Christian. You might actually hear someone sing Friends in Low Places as a special number! It's a very INTERESTING church.
Mrs. White
I really haven't had all that many embarrassing encounters with my cell, but there is one that comes to mind when I think about it.
I was at the movies with a friend. It happened during one of the veryquiet parts of the film. You know- those certain times when you can hear everyone munching on their popcorn and nachos. It wouldn't have been all that bad, (other than the stares and dirty looks I was getting from the other viewers), except the ring tone was "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye! I was embarrassed!
Talking about small-town country churches makes me really miss mine!!! We have about 80-85 regular members and the old fashioned stained glass windows; it is beautiful. I have been attending since the week after my birth and everyone knows me and I know everyone. I love being from a small town; I cant imagine it any other way!!
Ok, Beth. I now know you have good tastes in music if you're listening to or have ring tones of Marvin Gaye!
I was in my Art 200 class last semester and it just so happened that my text message tone was a voice tone from the movie, "Talladega Nights." So right as class began, everyone heard, "I might be 10 years old but I'll beat your a--. "Chip, I'm gunna come at you like a spider monkey. I'm all jacked up mountain dew." Ohh and to get the full effect of it, you could have heard a pin drop in that class.
I too have had a cell phone in church incident. I go to a small church with elss than 75 people, and it went off right in the middle of a sermon. Talk about my face turning red!! I've started leaving it in the car "just in case." :-)
This is where we all go HERE IS YOUR SIGN...it makes us all feel dumb and embarrassed.
Now top this! My phone rang once during a wedding, and I was a groomsman...That was EMBARRASING!
The most embarrassing time my cell phone was in church on a Sunday night. It was at the bottom of my purse and it took me forever to find it! The worst part is that my ringtone was the Chipmunks Christmas song and my son started singing along with it! Of course I was really popular with all of the other children after that because they wanted to play with my phone!
Okay so I must say that the most embarrassing time my phone rang was at the tanning bed. I was of course not able to hear it, and the ring tone was something not everyone needed to hear, and of course it still rang and rang until I was done. Then when leaving the front desk worker (who I knew) asked if I could turn my phone off next time. I was red all over!:)
