YES!

Okay...so I am finally able to post on the blog! How exciting! Cathy, I hope everything with you is okay and I thank you for getting back with me so soon considering the situation. Well, here is a little about myself-I am a second degree student here at Eastern and am not an education major-but instead a nursing major and in nursing school. I am taking this class one because I needed some hours to pick up and secondly because my 2 1/2 year old attends speech and I thought this class would give me some insight to his development and also ways that I could better benefit him at home. Not only do I think this class will do that-but I find that it may be very resourceful to the nursing aspect. Many think of nurses as individuals that only provide care, but lets not forget we also do a lot of teaching and educating to the patient and their families. I find myself relating the information I receive to the nursing field and find that it will indeed help overcome communication barriers because we deal with people of all backgrounds. I look forward to the semester!
